Coming in at 115 pages it's a short story. As an author of short stories myself, this is a format I love. The chapters are short with lots of action as, Mitchum, the small town of Marboro's unofficial PI takes on a case that is personal. His 14 year old niece has gone missing and it's up to him and is dope selling brother to find her. Are they up to the task? This is a fast paced story. ( ) Another fast paced BookShots! Mitchum's 14 year-old cousin, Bailey Mae, has disappeared. Mitchum's search for her leads to a hidden camp where several people are held prisoner. Mitchum's unlikely helper in this search is his drug dealing brother. This is the first in the series with Mitchum as the main character, also known as the unofficial town private detective. A quick read from James Patterson. One of my favourite authors so when I saw this little book, I couldn't help pick it up and squeeze it in between longer books. Its well written, and gives you enough info about the characters for you to get a feel for them and enjoy the book. The storyline itself is okay and in typical Patterson style, the chapters are super short and makes you want to keep reading. I have the next in series and will pick it up soon. All in All it was okay and I look forward to seeing how this whole story pans out. Mitchum trained to be a Navy SEAL, but met one obstacle he could not overcome; now he’s the unofficial private eye for his small town. But when people start dying and his cousin Bailey Mae is suddenly missing, he just might be involved in the one case that may very well get him killed. This BookShots story, peopled with well-developed and interesting characters caught up in an intriguing plot, immediately draws the reader into the telling of the tale. The only disappointment for readers is that this lightning-fast story ends far too soon. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
