This book tries rather hard to be in the same league as the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy. That's a rather tall order. In the end, I had to make an effort to finish reading, as the book seems to get more and more chaotic as it progresses. The last couple of chapters do provide closure to the many threads, which is good. (
