Personal Response: I like that this book is a Christmas book without being a traditional holiday book. This book could be used in the classroom setting, as a read aloud during the time of the holiday season.

Curriculum Connection: There are many books in this series. These books are easy to connect with, and students will have fun reading their rhythmic rime. Because of these rime, struggling students will be able to pick up words easily. ( )

The old lady swallows a bell, bows, gifts, a sack, a sleigh, and some reindeer. This story is cute and the student I read this with kept questioning why the lady kept swallowing things. This book is a good book to introduce adjectives.
