We get to dive right back into Anya's world, without much time passing from book one (so make sure to read it first, or you're going to be very lost). The major battle is drawing closer, but Anya and crew have a lot of recovering and preparing to do before it comes. The story moves along fairly smoothly, but I have to admit I was hoping Anya would've grown a little more by this time. (She still feels a bit childish at times, even with all she's been through to get here). There's plenty of action and twists to keep your heart racing, however, and Kuivalainen's descriptions make it easy to slip into the midst of the action. If you're looking for a unique fantasy that intertwines mythology from around the world, you'll want to grab this! ( )

Great installment in this series. I love stories that have folklore themes and this one did not disappoint. Good recommendation for fans of Katherine Arden.

This is the second book in the “Firebird Faerie Tales” series. I love the characters, and the continued world building in the series. It ended on a bang, and I can hardly wait to see where it goes next. All of my favorite characters from the first book are here and we get a little romance, without too much spice. It was a great read, and I highly recommend it! ( )

Interesting volume - not what I expected. A fantasy piece that combines different types of folks with special powers and all of their human interactions and emotions. I was a bit lost initially, however, i later realized that this was Volume II in a series (so much of the introduction of the characters had already been done in Vol I). This was entertaining enough that i need to go find Volume I and start from the beginning! ( )

Anya is lost to her friends all they can do is to hope that she awakens from her deep sleep. They are trying to keep her safe from the Illumination & the Darkness that will stop at nothing to get to her.
Anya can't find her way home no matter how hard she tries. Will she be able to make it back before it is too late?
They know that they need to get her back from the Land of Dreaming they just need to find a way to guide her back to her body. That simple right?
A good read. I should have read the 1st book in the series then I would have more of background on the characters.
Anya is a fierce warrior that gives everything to keep everyone safe but she is about to come up against an evil that they all thought that they knew. . How will she cope now?
The other characters are interesting as they all have their part to play in the story. But who will be left standing after the battle?
