It would be very good starting at a young age because children pick up sign language very quickly maybe even before talking. Babies will love singing and signing along with this large colorful board book. Child's Play publishes a series of board books featuring illustrations to simple songs such as I’m a Little Tea Pot and Baa, Baa, Black Sheep. Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star differs from the other Child’s Play books in that the illustrations depict multicultural babies signing the songs using American Sign Language and includes clarifying captions. The signs are easy to replicate which makes this a good book for modeling at a baby story time. A story teller should, however, be aware that the ending does not include all of the signs since it is a repetition of earlier lyrics. Child’s Play’s Itsy Bitsy Spider also includes American Sign Language illustrations and captions. Ages: 0-2. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
Children are able to communicate by signing before they develop the skills necessary for speech. By teaching simple sign language to children from as young as eight months, we can help them to convey their emotions and their needs. When children begin to talk, having sign language to fall back on provides a comforting safety net. Add to the fun of signing by singing well-known nursery rhymes and songs. Even proficient speakers will long enjoy signing to a favourite song or rhyme. Simple and clear signing instructions allow anyone to join in. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
