If you don't like editing errors this isn't for you. I'm trying to give the story a chance so I'm going to start the next book. If these weren't KU, I would stop right here. ( ) 4.4 stars Very good start to this series. I was intrigued from the first chapter until the end. I did think this was going to be a standalone in the series until I saw how close to the end I was and knew that there was no way that it could wrap it in that amount of pages. Looking forward to the next book. I received a copy via Obsessed by Books in exchange for an honest review Now I love my biker books and when I heard that Callie was writing one, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. I was not disappointed, this was a fantastic read, I was engrossed from page one and I had to read right the way through. We meet Alexis, minding her own business, walking home to catch the bus, because of the person she is, she tries to help a person in need, but ends up in a situation that she never thought would happen. Alexis is a strong and feisty character and she never loses that throughout the book. Enter Rebel, we are show this dark sexy man, who I feel has been through alot in his life, but he is strong and the president of the MC that he created. I feel there is alot more to Rebel than meets the eye, and he shows this to Sophie (as she now calls herself). They have a connection and both try to fight it as much as they can. I loved this book, the only one thing I can say is, Callie why did you leave me hanging like that, the way it ended, I need more Rebel now, I need to know what happens next. I will be on tender hooks waiting for Rebel 2. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

Book One in the Dead Man's Ink Series. This book contains strong ties with the Blood & Roses series, but you do not have to have read those works in order to read this one. Rebel is a contemporary romance story with occasional dark themes that some people might find confronting. Sophia Sometimes, you don't mean to become another person. Sometimes the choice is made for you, and pretending is the only thing that keeps you going. When Alexis Romera is taken and her kidnappers find her fake ID in her purse, she must become Sophia in order to keep her family safe. Revealing her real identity to the man she's sold to would be easy enough, but can she trust him? Hell bent on revenging the murder of his uncle, Rebel doesn't seem all that interested in playing things safe. In fact, nothing about the secretive, dark and brooding MC president seems safe at all. Rebel What do you do when the man who raised you is murdered, and the only witness is kidnapped girl who's being sold as a sex slave? You buy her, of course. As president to the most powerful motorcycle club in America, Rebel isn't lacking in power. There are strings the man can pull, and entire criminal organisations and corporate businesses alike would fall to their knees. However, along with such power comes intense interest. The DEA have their eye fixed solely on the MC...and they're just waiting for Rebel to trip up. Getting Sophia to testify is the only way to bring the Los Oscuros cartel down. The beautiful, dark haired, dark eyed woman is belligerent and uncooperative and unlikely to bend to his will, but Rebel has a few tricks up his sleeve to make her compliant--he'll charm her until she's bending over backwards to please him.
