Which makes sense as the main character Carrie is the head of programs and events at her town’s library. Carrie has a very busy life, she has just gotten a new promotion at work, she’s moving and also trying to solve a crime. The main thing I seem to notice is that Carrie never seems to read or at least lament that she doesn’t have time to read. The ending was Interesting start to the series, I’m hoping that book 2 in the series has more about the library. I’ll just have to read it soon to find out. Cozies Reading Challenge **I received an advanced readers copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review** Carrie feels trapped as a resident in her small town; as someone with a shady family past, Carrie feels the needs to constantly move. Yet, she lands a dream job at the local public library, and at her first huge program, the presenter dies. Was it an accident? Was it murder? Overall, the novel was a fun, light cozy mystery. I will say that Carrie has basically landed a dream job for any librarian, one that has lots of resources and funding for multiple programs on the same day, let alone two assistants to help her with her programs! And, how cute is it that it's a haunted library??? Carrie's character grew on me by the end of the novel, and I'd be interested in continuing the series, just to see how she grows as a character. I absolutely loved this book about a young woman being offered a job as the head of programs and events at the local library in Connecticut. Carrie Singletons soon discovers that the library is haunted by a former employee who she can see and talk too. There are lots of questions but not everyone is offering the answers. A well written and planned story. The plot thickens with each character involved in the murder of a woman who was killed 15 years prior. I was not disappointed with the first book of A Haunted Library Mystery. 3.5 stars Death Overdue was my first book written by Allison Brook. I thought it was quite a sweet cozy mystery. Small town, delicious food, and good company usually gets me. Our leading lady turned out to be likable and possibly more romance in the next book with an intriguing hot guy. Can't wait for more. What I didn't like was I thought Carrie's aunt and uncle were maybe a bit too sweet and kind. Yea, I know this is cozy books, but they are just too damn nice. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

Then the unimaginable happened. Al Buckley, former detective, and guest speaker at the Clover Ridge Library, cannot continue his program discussing a cold case of the murder of Laura Foster, a part-time library employee. Carrie Singleton, Head of Programs and Events, makes a shocking announcement even though the audience witnessed Al’s sudden collapse in the preceding minutes.
A dear aunt and uncle, a cute little feline, a former library employee that’s now a ghost, library assistants and coworkers, and a new landlord combine to bring a treasury of new experiences and a touch of romance to Carrie’s life. Thank goodness this is the beginning of a series, as I want to spend much more time with the characters in Clover Ridge. ( )
