Wow, wat een boek! Koop dit boek, lees dit boek, voel je lastig, schuldig, misselijk en krijg daarna gigantisch veel goesting om de sprong te wagen. “Take The Leap.”
Naomi maakt duidelijk waarom gewoon nee zeggen tegen Trump niet genoeg is. Want Trump komt niet uit de lucht gevallen, hij is de logische eindfase van het huidige neoliberale systeem.
Zij wil dat wij begrijpen waar we vandaan komen omdat we enkel dan kunnen begrijpen hoe we naar een nieuwe wereld kunnen evolueren. Ze begint met uit te leggen hoe het zo ver is kunnen komen (om te huilen, als je al die ellende leest), daarna laat ze ons zien wat er nu aan de gang is én vervolgens waarschuwt ze ons hoe het nog erger kan (heel ongemakkelijk om te lezen). Dan komt het energie-gevende deel, het deel over hoe het beter kan. Door niet enkel nee te zeggen maar ons te verenigen en ja te zeggen. Ja tegen een wereld die goed is voor ons allemaal. En dat wil zeggen vrouwen, vluchtelingen, immigranten, transgenders, inheemse volkeren,… Enkel als we samen gaan werken, en niet stap voor stap maar met een grote, moedige sprong vooruit, gaan we bereiken wat er bereikt moet worden. Er is geen tijd meer om te palaveren en elkaar te bekritiseren. ‘The time is now.’
