I'm terrible at remembering the name of the book I'm reading - I make no effort to do so and I'm not sure why because it annoys me when I DON'T KNOW!

I looked at this title and had zero memory of those words, let alone what content it referred to, so here is the summary: When they were only teenagers, Asher and Caxton were caught making out in the woods at church camp. And afterward, Cax had disappeared from all the youth group activities. Six years later, Asher is astonished to spot his first love's face in the crowd of a college basketball game he's watching on television-at a school that has just offered him a job. It's a thousand miles away, in a tiny rural town. But suddenly he can't wait to get there. Cax can't believe his eyes when Asher appears in the same Massachusetts town where he now lives. And he's still just as drawn to him as ever. But he can't let himself go there again, because loving Asher will mean giving up everything else he holds dear. Both men have so much to lose. But as far as their love is concerned, it's Hello Forever.

This summary brought back the poignant parts of what was a good story. Low marks for the title, I would have to say. Good news however is that I did really like this book.

I'm surprised to see I've only read 4 Sarina Bowen novels. I think of her as a reliable go to for a good read.

I enjoy friends to lovers romances, particularly one where the attraction starts early, as this one does. The separation is very realistic, and I really enjoyed all the revelations these two have as they get reacquainted and become lovers. The climax is scary. I would've preferred a better motive there, but otherwise this is a very enjoyable novel. It doesn't have that last line perfection that would've made it near-perfect, and there is a bit more telling me feelings rather than just letting actions and dialogue reveal naturally. But I enjoyed it and recommend it without reservation. ( )

A second chance friends to lovers story following Axel and Cax who reunite again after being forcibly torn apart as teens when they were caught kissing at a church camp.

The whole situation with Cax’s homophobic asshole of a father was heartbreaking, especially how Cox was basically given the ultimatum of stay in the closet or lose contact with his three brothers, and by the end, I could only say good riddance ( )
