A nice little romp of a novella between Mistborn Era 2, Books #1 and #2. This was a pulpy hero story about one of the heroes out in the roughs, being written by himself, and annotated by his publisher. It was amusing, but not being part of the novels, it fell a little for me. I think I absolutely would have appreciated it when it was published, coming halfway between #1 and the release of #2 though. Allomancer Jak is a hilarious, pulpy, over the top adventure story set on the Mistborn universe (specifically the Alloy of Law time period). It adds a bit of world building--specifically explaining how the Koloss have changed since the first era of the Final Empire--but mostly it's just fun to read. I'm especially amused by the numerous footnotes 'written' by the editor. It's a bit annoying to jump back and forth on the Kindle, but worth it. 62 points/100 (3.25 stars/5). Allomance Jak finishes his tale of life in the Roughs by finding some lost treasure. This is a short story told in the style of old time newspaper stories about an especially dim-witted adventurer. The story itself isn't much. Mostly we learn about the Koloss and how they have adapted since the first era trilogy into being more than an object for Ruin to use. I was actually kind of bored (read: falling asleep) with the story......... However, I realised that due to an error on my ereader's part, I was missing something. The annotations! Holy hell the annotations are one of the funniest damn things I've ever read. They were so amazing. Handerwym is fucking savage. Definitely worth the read for Haverwym's annotations. I was fucking dying reading them. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

It didn’t hold my attention. Most unlike the other Brandon Sanderson book’s I’ve read. ( )
