Op dit moment geen Discussie gesprekken over dit boek. murder at a mock murder weekend, Claire Malloy and police boyfreind I picked up this book because I loved the idea of the setting, a murder mystery weekend at a charming Victorian inn. The story wasn't as compelling as I'd hoped, however. Still, I enjoyed protagonist Claire Malloy's sense of humor, as well as teenaged daughter Caron's character, which added some color to the story. This is the second in the Claire Malloy series, and is not my favourite. I happily read series out of sequence so this is the sixth one I have read. Claire decides to go to a murder mystery weekend at the Mimosa Inn and drags her less than enthusiastic teenage daughter with her. Claire is determined to solve the mystery and win the prize, a bottle of champagne. Her boyfriend Peter (a police investigator) ridicules the whole idea of pretend murder games which only makes Claire more determined. The game commences and the ‘victim’ turns up dead – really dead; so all the hotel guests are now suspects – real suspects. The storyline had so much potential, and I really enjoyed the other books I have read, its just that this one fell a bit short for me. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
Onderdeel van de reeks(en)Claire Malloy (2)
When you make a game of murder, be careful who the players are... Who could resist the mock-murder weekend at the charming Mimosa Inn-- certainly not bookstore owner and amateur sleuth Claire Malloy, who decides to bring her petulant daughter Caron along for some detecting. As the guests settle in for a weekend of sleuthing, dressed as their favorite literary detectives, many a Miss Marple and Hercule Poirot stand poised to solve a murder. But fiction becomes alarmingly real, as the mock-murder victim isn't just playing dead-- he's really been bashed to death. More determined than even to find the killer, Claire combs the grounds of the lovely inn for this most uninvited guest. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
