This is the third time I've cried over a Sarah J. Maas book in my physical science class. Seriously, my teacher is just used to it by now.

I honestly love how everyone is hating on this book and saying how they hate Feysand and the smut was cringy... and I'm over here with my five stars like ¯_(ツ)_/¯

(Also, Chapter 22 is the new Chapter 55. Fight me.)

Kinda boring and unnecessary. Pretty much nothing happened. I know it's just a novella, I was not expecting a novel plot, but still it's a lot longer than a short story so I expected more.

I will preface this review by saying that I waited around a month and a half to pick up this book following A Court of Wing and Ruin. That book seemed to just have the perfect closure for me that I wanted to live with it for a bit. I was content and happy with where things were. And then I picked this up...

The hype around A Court of Silver Flame is truly what made me pick up this series again. I didn't take a break from it because I no longer liked it, but rather I didn't want the story to go anywhere else. I understood that this book was a bridging book that allowed us to switch our minds from Ferye's story to Nesta's, but I wish it was done differently.

I think the best way I can describe this book is a Hallmark Holiday Special movie, and I am not a fan of just constant happiness. I want more depth from my books with ups and downs. I kept turning the pages waiting for something to happen, but it just never did.

I'm just disappointed in this book because of the high I was riding before this. I hope A Court of Silver Flame is worth having read this bridge book. ( )

I found little enjoyment in this book considering the rest of the series was pretty intense. I enjoyed the small banter but it was not up to par with the rest of the books ( )

I love love love the ACOTAR series but the one single book I could have done with out. Maybe it was because it was so short and each chapter changes from character to character from their own point of view. I just didn't like that. I had to pay attention each time to who was talking because I'd go to start another chapter and be like what? Also it feels like the book just told a short story of one event with not much action and a whole lot going on. All other ACOTAR books get a 5 star rating from me. This one I skimmed pages and paragraphs and just couldn't really get into it at all. ( )
