I thought this story was ok. There are some elements that didn't work for me: Wulf's acceptance of Luc's darker side, especially regarding Senthys, without really working through it; Wulf and Luc's love in general (aside from the sex, I couldn't tell why they loved each other - the last time they saw each other Wulf was barely an adult, and suddenly twenty years later they are in love); and sometimes the dialogue was just too sugary (an abundance of "I love you" and "don't leave me" and "I cherish you," etc. that didn't align with their personalities, especially Luc's). I will say though that I never had a taste for champagne, but I quite like the use for it at the end of the book. :-) ( )

I received the KINDLE version of this book through a holiday giveaway on FaceBook, and the following is my honest opinion for this book. I read this book between March 9 and March 10 and I’m only now getting around to posting my review for it.

Being a Book Reviewer affords one the opportunity of reading books of every genre imaginable. While I’ve already reviewed books which contain futuristic, science fiction and romantic elements, as well as a M/M short story, this is the first time I’ve read this last element in a real novel.

I like the way Ms. Allen has melded all of the various genres this book contains into a single novel. There are surprises which are continually popping up especially when you consider the relationship between Wulf and Luc, a pair of guys who previously have been adversaries. I found this book to be a page turner because of this.

Just as it takes a certain male author to be able to write a decent romance novel, regardless of the sub-genre from a woman’s POV, it takes a certain woman to be able to write a M/M romance novel well; and apparently from my limited exposure to this genre, Ms. Allen succeeded.

If you’d like to read a different romance genre, which you’ve never read before, I’d consider reading this book.

Given the above, I’m happy to give Kayelle Allen 4 STARS for her endeavor here. ( )

Wulf is a very complicated story. It is part of the Tarthian Empire, one of the Tales of the Chosen.

Luc is a Sempervians, an immortal creature who aged and died but alwayw reborn to new lifes. Wulf is the son of one of his Chosen, human people choose to serve and protect the Sempervians. When Wulf's dad died, his mother move with him on Kelthia, another planet, and Luc lost his heart. Cause he loves his Chosen, and had loved Wulf's father like a friend and Wulf like a son.

But now, 20 years later, Wulf return to him and his love is something else: he wants Wulf like lover and no one can deny him something.

I like Luc: he is the master in this affair, but he is also much more "human" than the real humans; he feels pain and cries, he loves and hates. Wulf, instead, is an omega male, very smart in intellect, but fragile when feelings are involved. He needs the strong figure of Luc, and when he finds him, he willingly gives all he has to him.

The world that Kayelle Allen creates is very complex and huge; she can set here many stories without problem. Maybe so huge, that only one story isn't enough to better understand it.
