Excerpt from The Demand and Price Situation: October, 1941Wheat United States wheat growers are expected to seed about 55 million acres for the 1942 crop, an acre age about equal to the national allotment and 13 percent below the acreage. If seedings turn out to be about 55 million acres and average yields are obtained, production will total about 650 million bushels. A crop of this size would represent a reduc tion from.the indicated 1941 crop slightly larger than the expected increase in the July 1, 1942 carry over, so that total supplies in 1942 - 43 may be only slightlv below the record supplies this year.
