All the content in this book could be summarized in a paragraph and I didn't learn anything new. The art style is cute, though. ( ) This book was great. It was easy to understand, follow, and gave simple but great examples to help home, school, and work be more gender neutral. While the book mentions laying it out or passing it around at work, it is simplistic enough for kids to understand as well. I would be a great addition to any collection, library, personal, or professional. This little book is a great introduction to gender neutral pronouns. It only took me about twenty minutes to read. For anyone who's ever had one of those frustrating "but you can't use they/them as a singular pronoun!" discussions, get this book and share it with your friends and family who need an explanation about why it's important. Heck, share with anyone you HAVEN'T had a frustrating discussion with! The more we bring gender identities outside the binary into the conversation, the better. This small book does what it claims to do--the focus is on using pronouns and how it relates to language, not so much the why (which is fine, the purpose isn't justifying use of pronouns, the goal is HOW!). This guide would be very useful to folks who are understanding and empathetic, and just need a final small push to properly use and ask for pronouns. It really was a quick and easy guide. Only one thing keeping this from a higher rating - it was a very surface level explanation, only dipping its toes into explaining what misgendering means to someone (though my perspective is skewed by reading Kobabe's Gender Queer earlier this year). I think it achieved it's stated goal, but without more context, I'm not sure how much sharing this book will change hearts and minds. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

Archie, a snarky genderqueer artist, is tired of people not understanding gender neutral pronouns. Tristan, a cisgender dude, is looking for an easy way to introduce gender neutral pronouns to his increasingly diverse workplace. The longtime best friends team up in this short and fun comic guide that explains what pronouns are, why they matter, and how to use them. They also include what to do if you make a mistake, and some tips-and-tricks for those who identify outside of the binary to keep themselves safe in this binary-centric world. A quick and easy resource for people who use they/them pronouns, and people who want to learn more!. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
