( ) Mark & Isaiah suddenly find themselves the foster parents of Marks's sister's and Isaiah's brother's 3 children The makeshift family works very hard to be able to stay together and of course along the way makes numerous mistakes...but it doesn't stop them. I have discovered a reoccurring theme in Annabeth Albert's books. The perfect couple always has to have a rough patch that really just serves to break your heart and sometimes causes you to want to shake some sense into them...but isn't life usually like that and isn't real love wonderful no matter what sex the couple is? This author gives the reader a glimpse of what true love can and should be...especially for those that society says is wrong to want the same things as other couples...love, devotion, family, and above all...acceptance to make these decisions.. I have two very good gay friends that fought through hell and highwater to just be together and keep their baby who is the biological child of both of them.... the most adorable, amazing 18 year old son that will be entering university this year and just celebrated his high school graduation with his two beautiful, talented fathers. I can't look at this family and believe that anything about it was ever "wrong". Good work in getting that message across, Ms. Albert. Wow! I am not sure where to begin with my review. I am a fan of frenmies to lovers theme and this story did a wonderful job of providing a character arc and storytelling all wrapped up in one. I found myself connected and entertained by both characters where I stayed up late to get to my HEA. In the case of both Mark and Isaiah, you saw where each character's motivation was and always stayed on point to keep the family together even as the attraction ramped up. Mark being military it's such a fine like showing them as a caricature rather than someone you can relate to. Ms Albert shows us Mark and how he feels so you can relate to him as not just a hawt SEAL but as a man who has never shared so much of himself. I think that readers will not only find an entertaining story but may have a better understanding of sexual orientation not just being a dictionary definition. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

In the wake of tragedy, SEAL Mark Whitley rushed stateside to act as guardian to his sister's three young children. But a conflicting will could give custody to someone else-someone Mark remembers as a too young, too hot, wild party boy. Even after six years, Mark can't shake the memory of his close encounter with Isaiah James, or face up to what it says about his own sexuality. Isaiah's totally over the crush that made him proposition Mark all those years ago. In fact, he's done with crushing on the wrong men altogether. For now, he's throwing himself into proving he's the best person to care for his cousin's kids. But there's no denying there's something sexy about a big, tough military man with a baby in his arms. As the legal details get sorted out, their long-buried attraction resurfaces, leading to intimate evenings after the kids are tucked in. A forever future is within reach for all of them, if only Mark can find the courage he needs to trust Isaiah with his secrets-and his heart. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
