This book is about a little girl who decides she wants to clone a sheep for a pet instead of just going and buying one, so she builds a machine in her lab and accomplishes the feat. But, then it gets a little out of control and the sheep run amok before the community works together to get the sheep to better places.
This book was cute, and a fun representation of females in science and creativity. It showed creativity, planning, and thinking skills. It was written well and illustrated well. I could use it in the classroom to teach vocabulary and to inspire scientific creativity. I could use it to show female representation in STEM. I could use it to teach about what cloning is, if that ever came up. Other than that, it's just a fun creative book that could spark creative curiosity in students. ( )

Mary, a young inventor, worked in her lab as the other children in her neighborhood played outside. On the search for some company as she invents in her lab, Mary creates a pet sheep. At first its perfect and them comes along a big problem to solve. Cute, funny, twist to the nursery rhyme about Mary and her little lamb. The rhymes are well written and smooth reading for an enjoyable read with infant, toddler and preschoolers. ( )

This is a book about a young girl named Mary who is a scientist, and one day realizes she has no friends to help her with her project, so she gets an idea and goes out to get a tuft of hair off of a sheep. She then puts the hair into her machine and create a new sheep who becomes her friend, whom she takes everywhere including class, where all the kids ask her for one too. So, she makes everyone a sheep but the machine jams and sheep overrun the town. Then, Mary and her new friends solve the problem by creating a wool clothing company from all the sheep and giving the sheep to the pastures.
