Note: I accessed a digital review copy of this book through Edelweiss. ( ) This book describes two children who go on their own mission to catch a mermaid. In the end, the realize that the mermaid is trying to save them from sharks in the ocean so they do not want to catch her anymore. This book was excellently illustrated but would be difficult to follow without the words on the pages. The author also put key describing words in fun fonts and colors to make them pop. This also tells the reader to read these words in a different tone to make the story more clear. This delightful children's book is written in rhyme with adorable and vivid illustrations to help the early reader use picture cues. This is a story of two clever kids and a dog trying their best to catch an equally clever and fast mermaid. The mermaid keeps escaping the traps set to lure her while collecting treasure along the way. When the friends find themselves in danger, the mermaid shows up to save the day! Unfortunately, she does not stick around, but quickly dives in and swims away. A fun adventure to share with young children and for young readers to practice their skills. A nice addition to a family, classroom, school or public library. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of this book via Netgalley. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
