Summary: This book starts off with the boy getting ready to go outside and play. His mother makes breakfast, then he gets dressed, and then him and his dog go outside to play. They see the other kids going down the hill on a sled and the boy also goes down the hill on his sled, but when he comes down he cannot find Clancy his dog. Everybody looks for Clancy but , they cannot find him. Then the boy hears a bark and he finds Clancy. Personal Reaction: I like this book I can relate to losing a pet and the feeling you go through and then the happiness you feel when the pet comes back. I liked the repetiton that goes along with the book. Classroom Extension: 1. As a class we could take about the responsiblities of owning a pet and how you should take care of it. 2. Then we could draw a picture of our favorite pet and the explain why this is our favorite pet. The genre of this book is multi-cultural. This book is also fictional. The art used was a combination of illustrations and paintings. The content of the book is about a boy that lost his dog when playing in the snow with his friends and then they fund the dog. Reading level for this book is second grade. There are no curricular connections in this book but it is still a good story for children to read. K-1. This story is about a little boy that goes out in the snow and the way the story is told, he has to increase (like clothing) or other things increase during winter time (like snow and people on sleds). Cute story to get students involved so they can guess what may come next, recognize the pattern of repeating words. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
