This was stunning! I loved this Hades Persephone retelling! The art is absolutely gorgeous and the story is compelling. This does end on a cliff-hanger!

The last time I read this portion of "Lore" was as it was coming out on WebToon, so it was fun to revisit it in a print format! I'm such a sucker for the dynamic Hades and Persephone have here and honestly I'd keep reading just for that aspect alone. There are a few things that seem a bit cringe/dated (like Persephone being called a "cinnamon bun") but lowkey it's also cute, sooooo... ¯_(ツ)_/¯ ( )

Lore Olympus, a graphic novel based on a popular Webtoon, updates the story of Hades and Persephone into a YA romance replete with fast cars and cell phones. Each episode has its own story arc, but transitions between them are not always tight.
It is easy to buy Persephone as an Olympian ingenue, but Hades as an underworld teen heartthrob is a tougher sell. I expected Demeter to play a more prominent role.
The artwork is minimalist but expressive. The novel grabs the first twenty-five episodes of the Webtoon, which now runs more than 200 episodes.
I suspect that regular readers of graphic novels will appreciate the book more than I do. ( )

This was so good! I am not super into Greek mythology, but I still enjoyed it. The drawings are beautiful! I am continuing the story on Web Toons now. I have like 100 more episodes to read, so I have a lot to look forward to! :) ( )
