Note: I received a digital review copy from the publisher through NetGalley. ( ) Although sweet, this book also has some unintended creepiness and the plot doesn't solve the problem in my mind. A boy asks his great grandmother if all her dreams had come true. That is a very sweet question and premise for the story. The boy wants to help her fulfill her dream by going himself. He's too young to travel on his own and I don't see how that helps her fulfill her dream. I like the illustrations of the great grandma. Tearjerker alert! But in the best way. Ali’s worried about his great grandmother. She is so old and frail. He asks if all of her dreams came true. When she says all but one, Ali is determined to help make that dream a reality. Such a lovely and heart warming story. It’s simple in the best way possible. Plus the illustrations….amazing and they match so well to the story. The illustration of great-grandmother just invokes an every grandma feel that makes me miss mine soooooo much. A wonderful story that hopefully earns lots of awards. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
When Ali's aged great-grandmother, with whom he lives, tells him the one thing she wishes for that she never did was to see the sea, two days walk away across the desert, he sets out with a pail to make the journey for her. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
