It was the perfect conclusion to the Ladies of Harper Station series by Ms. Witemeyer. Pieter's steadfastness in caring for Claire was heart melting, swoon worthy goodness. And I love that Claire was a little stubborn (maybe because I can be that way, too), but as a child of God, she eventually tuned in to His voice, forgave, and was able to trust and move forward. I loved the title of the book as well as the references to knots throughout the book. Very well done novella. I only wish that it hadn't had to end. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

In this book you get to know Claire Nevin. She is an Irish immigrant, who is working in Harper's Station as an apprentice healer.
When her troubled sister sends her an unexpected package by rail, the gift and the man who delivers it will change Claire's life forever. Claire will need to learn to trust Pieter, the man she thinks betrayed her, all over again. When Claire gets deathly sick, she will see Pieter as the caring and loving man she once thought he was. It was a heartwarming tale of true love (and I loved the ring that Pieter gave to Claire; a perfect tie in to the title). This was not a long story, could be easily read in one night, but felt like a full story. It also gave a good ending with bringing all the other ladies from the other stories in this series back to town for a reunion. ( )
