This book is about the expedition to the far south with Ernest Shackleton. We learn that men had an option of either going to fight in World War I, or going on this long, cold, and very dangerous expedition. The book invites the reader to be a part of Shackleton’s team and teaches the reader all about the expedition, the things they did, how they survived, and how the expedition went. This was a very engaging book to read. It kept me interesting the entire time! I think this is a great way for students to learn about this expedition and how the men had to fight for survival under the harsh circumstances. I really enjoyed the illustrations and I think it helps the reader visualize what the characters in the book were experiencing. The book also goes into details with its illustrations about the little things like it shows you the clothing worn, the food being eaten, and how the characters spent their free time. All the little details in the book help the reader get a better understanding of the story, with an entertaining twist. ( ) geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
