In 1830, during Andrew Jackson's presidency, the U.S. Congress passed a bill turning into law what had been until then unofficial policy: the forcible removal of those Indians living east of the Mississippi and their resettlement in the West. The author relates the history of these Indians during this white expansionism and shows how the Trail of Tears led to the final massacre at Wounded Knee. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
