Using Blanchard's signature breezy style, The One Minute Apology tells the story of a Young Man who wants to help his mentor, a company president, face and deal with some crucial mistakes he has made. For advice, the Young Man turns to a family friend, the One Minute Manager. What begins as a beautiful country weekend turns into an enlightening few days when he discovers what it truly means to apologize effectively when we have done something wrong. Through this engaging parable, Blanchard and McBride teach readers step-by-step how to accept responsibility for their errors and deal with the cause of the damage while maintaining a genuine sense of integrity. The book offers constructive advice on taking a load off one's chest by not holding onto negative feelings, living truthful ('the truth will set you free') and in cognizance with feelings of those around you. One should particularly apologize if one has made a mistake not in sync with the way one wants to live - it is more like apologizing to oneself rather than someone else. Only genuine apology can be followed with correctie action and faking it does not matter even to the person being apologized to.
Apologizing does not diminish one's respect instead it builds self-respect and if done correctly that infront of the person infront of you. ( )
