Some of the poems blew me away, but most of them felt a meh to me. I think this was in large part because of the theme - love poems, both about being in love and about getting over love, just never resonated with me very well. I also found Peppernell's style a bit jarring. There would be rhymes sometimes, but not enough enough for me to get used to them, so when they appeared, they threw me out of the poem. Review copy courtesy of the publisher via NetGalley. Pre read: I'm so excited for this !!! Pillow Thoughts is an absolute fave. // Thanks to Andrews McMeel Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC // ". . . you are the castle a soul calls home . . ." Right when I think that poem books aren't original anymore, Peppernell comes with a fresh set perfect for reading in the warmth and comfort of your pillows and blankets. Something to warm your heart and ensure a goodnight's sleep. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

“Some chapters don’t have happy endings. But you read on anyway, and I think that’s the point. Not to be happy all the time but to know the sun always comes back around.”
