It is about kids going to bus stop instead of adventuring North pole. This picture book gave me a good laugh. The ending was unexpected and hilarious. Children would love this short read and can relate to the story line. This story brought me back to memories of my childhood and snow days. This book would be a great read during the winter. The main ideas of the story are conveyed through the pictures that go along with the text. It discribes a boy dragging himself through the snow. It sways you to believe he is climbing up a mountain and is struggling to get to the top. However, we find out that he was struggling to get to the bus stop. As he reaches the bus stop he’s friends inform him that school is cancelled for the day. His walk to the bus stop seems irrelevant now as he heads off to play with his friends. This fictional story is relatable in many ways. Many children love snow days and hope for school to be cancelled. When we did out we still have to go to school in the snow it is dreadful. This story takes this idea and turns it into a funny story. There are great details throughout each picture along with supporting text. The text shows the main characters feelings and emotions throughout the story and provides an understanding of how he is feeling. This book contains a relatable and funny story throughout. This book was short and easy to read. It has great illustrations and minimal words. It included text on the page as well as speech bubbles above the character. It shows him trekking through the snow and struggling, it turns out he is just being dramatic and walking down his driveway in a snow storm to the bus stop. The story was funny and easy for children to read. My favorite part was the pictures and descriptive words the author uses. In my opinion, this is a good book. The author managed to incorporate humor and drama into an ordinarily mundane daily task by using such dramatic language as "Pressing on through the snow" and "I can't go on". The illustrations are visually impressive, and allow the reader to see and "feel" every emotion and detail from the story as it unfolds. The main idea of this book is that challenge is somewhat about how you see it. If you maintain a sense of negativity, then you will have a hard time working through it. If you maintain a positive attitude, then you will have an easier time working through it. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
