Reflexology and Acupressure: Pressure Points for Healing, by Janet Wright
? ? ? ? 1/2
This book is written in a clear concise and easy to comprehend manner. The introduction gives a basic overview of this alternative healing practice and provides 3 basic anatomical charts to be used along with the anatomical references made in each chapter in regards to the major organs, skeletal frame, and endocrine system.
The subsequent chapters cover: basic concepts, history, current relevance of treatment, reflexology, accupressure, & the treatment of problems. The treatment of problems section contains sub-categories: first aid, soothing pain, conditions, inner self, women & men. Each of the sections contain; color photos, well illustrated body charts, and visual instructions (with arrows) and hand/feet/finger/body positioning.
Also included are a glossary, index, and acknowledgments.
I like this book and I use it as a reference guide when working with clients & friends. It is easy to use & understand and does not get bogged down with either technical/scientific terminology or idealology. The reflexology charts are really clear as are the instructions for moving energy & direction of massage strokes. ( )
