"An Army veteran and intelligence agent goes undercover as a janitor at a federal courthouse to pursue his own brand of justice in a thriller that's part John Grisham, part Robert Crais. As a young man, Paul McGrath rebelled against his pacifist father by becoming a standout Army recruit and the star of his military intelligence unit. But lingering regrets about their relationship make him return home, only to find his father dead, seemingly murdered. When the case ends in a mistrial--after a key piece of evidence disappears--something doesn't smell right to McGrath. So he puts his arsenal of skills to work to find out just how corrupt the legal system is. And to keep digging, he gets a job at the courthouse. But not as a lawyer or a clerk. Now McGrath is a janitor. The perfect cover, it gives him security clearance and access to the entire building. No one notices him, but he notices everyone. He notices when witnesses suddenly change their stories. When jury members reverse their votes during deliberation. When armies of corporate attorneys grind down their small-time adversaries with endless tactical shenanigans. While McGrath knows that nothing he discovers can undo his past wrongs or save his father, he finds his new calling brings him something else: the chance to right current wrongs and save others. And by doing so--just maybe--to redeem himself. if the powerful and corrupt don't kill him first"--… (meer)

The premise of a son coming home from military duty. finding out that his father was murdered, and seeking justice is an intriguing one. The beginning of this started out good. I felt Paul's agony of how to find justice for his father's death. The ending seemed rushed-short chapters explaining historical events that quickly leads up to resolving the case. Overall, a decent read but with a rushed ending. ( )

I received this book as part of the Early Reviewers program. Paul McGrath returns after duty in the military to see his father who he has not had contact with in years only to find that his father had died of suspected murder years earlier. As part of his plan to uncover what really happened, he takes a job as a janitor in the courthouse and discovers many legal issues occurring behind the scene. Faced with numerous legal challenges, Paul becomes an advocate for many people being taken advantage of.

Author Grant weaves an interesting plot with well developed characters that draw the reader in. I found this to be an interesting storyline and Grant does an amazing job developing the character of Paul with all of his likeable characteristics. Loved the original storyline! ( )

Received this book as part of thr Early Reviewer program. Have read and enjoyed the author’s previous works, and this fast paced thriller was just as enjoyable. ( )

Invisible begins promisingly, establishing the protagonist, Paul McGrath's, credentials and skills in espionage. I liked the novel approach of his working inside a courthouse and his sympathy toward tenants being forced from their building, but I agree with other Early Reviewers that with the introduction of multiple story lines - Eastern European mobsters, money laundering, human trafficing, and so on, that the book quickly lost credulity and interest. I finished it, but do not recommend it. ( )
