There was some nice fluffiness to it, but it also had some great slow burn with fabulous Christmas cheer. Zach is working at his family's cafe, but he wants more. He is hoping to get a job at a nearby town working as an event planner at a hotel. Meanwhile, though, he is thrust into the last few weeks of planning the town's big Christmas parade and fair. He doesn't initially want to do it, but finds himself having fun while he does it. He also gets to spend more time with his crush Holland. Holland is 15 years older than Zach, but that doesn't stop the guys from taking a step back and realizing what it is they want in life--stability, love, comfort, and home. Zach and Holland were a great match for this, and I am really hoping we see more of them in book 2. Onderdeel van de reeks(en)Lighthouse Bay (1)
It's recent college graduate Zach Greenfeld's favorite time of the year and he's just received a temporary gig planning Lighthouse Bay's Christmas parade. Not only does it speak to his penchant for organization, it also puts him face to face on a daily basis with his unrequited crush—Holland Stone. But his new job starts off in disaster when the most important float—Santa's sleigh—gets damaged. Holland needs to win the Lighthouse Bay Christmas parade float competition in order to grow his new dollhouse-making business. The prize is an article in a major city newspaper, and nothing beats free advertising. Except, eager to help the adorable parade organizer, he volunteers to help fix Santa's sleigh, leaving no time to work on his own float, and putting his prize at risk. Damaged floats, snowstorms, and a last-minute parade emergency force Zach and Holland closer than ever. All they need is a little bit of Christmas magic to help them realize they belong together. Christmas Lane is a sweet, May/December, small-town Christmas romance with an HEA! Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |

Zach grew up in Lighthouse Bay and is back after going to college in Portland, about 40 minutes away from his hometown. He is trying to get a job as an event planner, but with little experience, he's not getting very far. So in the meantime, he works part time in his sister's cafe. When Zach is offered the chance to run the Christmas parade temporarily, he is happy to get to use his schooling, as well as being put in close contact with his current crush, Holland. Holland was raised in Lighthouse Bay, and after holding jobs that didn't really appeal to him, has finally discovered his calling with a woodworking/handyman business. He needs for his float to win the parade in order to grow his new business. When the Santa float that the coordinator organized is delivered damaged, Holland volunteers to create a new one. With Zach as one of his helpers, Holland and Zach have lots of interactions with each other, which leads to them getting to know one another and realizing that they might have more in common than they think.
Super sweet, but not so sweet that I got a toothache. I liked how the relationship built between Zach and Holland, and how Holland's friends accepted it right away. Zach's sister was a little too much, with her complete disinterest in anything outside of herself and how things affected her, but other than that, nothing really stood out as annoying to me. I liked the friendships, and Zach and Holland were very cute together. ( )
