A friend (MH) sent me this book in a box of books.

The romance plot is a lot of does he love me or doesn't he/can she love me or can't she episodes. I understand Josiah being torn between obligations. He feels he owes his uncle in Ohio for taking him/them in and loaning him money. He feels he owes his sister because he left her behind when he left the family and also because he moved her away after their parents died (thinking it was the best thing for her). He feels he owes Raesha and Naomi because they take Dinah in and care for her as well as giving him a room nearby so he can rebuild his family's buildings (whether to sell or stay is to be determined).

Josie went through quite a bit prior to us meeting her. It does make me wonder how often it happens to Amish girls. In some ways, they are sheltered prior to their running around time and I can see how they could be taken advantage of. I can also see why they might fear returning to their Amish community. ( )
