There may have been titles that didn't quite work for me, but overall Scare Street is an entertaining, interconnected universe of titles. The two series I received in the Library Thing Early Readers program, the Nightmare Series (books 1-3) by David Longhorn and edited by Emma Salam, and Worthe's Village and Hell's Hammer (books 1 and 2 in the Haunted Village Series), deliver the goods a horror fan wants in a read. Interesing characters and (a hallmark of the Scare Street line) a fantastic setting. And for ereader fans, Scare Street titles the typos/grammar quirks and formatting headaches you find in a lot of ebooks are kept to a minimum. There are a few things that could enhance Scare Street, especially for newcomers. While every book comes with a listing of the many different series the the SS catalong, it would help to find out at the beginning of every book if it features characters or settings from other series, and if/how the book interconnects with any other SS titles. I loved this book. The writing was great, the characters very interesting.
Overall, I thought the book was brilliant and well thought out.
Highly recommend. (
