A numbers book counting "The Twelve Days of Winter" and the fun class experiences and exchanges between a girl and her teacher. This book is a school counting book and is great for readers who are learning to count. I enjoy that this book follows the tune to a popular Christmas song but the words are different and it is about “winter” so it is relatable to a greater audience. The illustrations in this book are very colorful and relate back to the text. After each number of items is introduced, the picture displays the corresponding number of items. These items stay on every page thereafter allowing for the reader to keep up with the counting and have the previous numbers repeated. I think the repetition in this book supports active learning for the reader. Finally, this book has simple language that provides a lot of verbs and adjectives. These action and description words help build a young reader’s vocabulary. Overall, I think this book is a very educational book. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
