In this picture book, an instrcutional material for kindergarten, each page presents a brief story of teacher and young students (animals) as they are presented with simple math problems such as finding patterns and sequences in shapes, measuring their pencil using a ruler, and pressing the numbers on a an imaginary phone inset in the book to call the right number. Each page uses multisensory tools to bridge concrete concepts such as counting, comparing simple quantities, and counting objects to name a few. As an instructional aid for math and reading it is very fun and useful. It is geared toward kindergarten and I would definitely use this as an added manipulative and tool to help aid in re-enforcing these core concepts. ( )

How many? How much? is a great book about mathematics that takes readers on a math journey through Timothy and his friends kindergarten class. This book introduces numbers, measurements, money, and more in a very understanding way. The illustrator did a terrific job with the way this book was mapped out. I really enjoyed this math book and it really gave me an idea on how I can incorporate a math book in a math lesson one day. ( )

The classroom setting in the book and the kind animal characters that are illustrated in the book very exciting and engaging for young students. I will gladly have this book in my classroom. ( )

The author Rosemary Wells uses numbers and patterns in a classroom setting to teach readers math. She uses very warm animal characters to capture the readers fun side. This book is very interactive as well. Showing various mathematical problems and immediately solving them through the illustrations gives readers a clear visual and understanding. It also give readers an opportunity to engage in the problems through a step by step process. ( )

This is a great math book for children because it allows children to practice different topics in mathematics. It also uses the illustrations to help the students solve the questions asked in the book.I feel like this is what make the book different than the others that I have read. The book actually poses activities and questions for the kids to answer which is brilliant because it will keep them interested and engaged. I would use this book to introduce mathematics to young children. ( )
