When Dottie finds out the museum she runs in East Haddam, Connecticut is closing, it is the worst day of her life. Her best friend, Hetty an ex pageant queen who runs the local diner urges her to decorate the museum for Christmas she topples a stack of wreaths on Joe. A now famous baseball player, Joe has returned home to fix up his deceased parent's home before selling it in the off season. Joe, Dottie and Hetty all used to be best friends, but with Joe now famous he and Dottie lost touch. In fact, they started to drift during high school. Dottie always thought it was because Joe was so driven toward baseball, and Joe thought it was because Dottie was driven toward her boyfriend Harold. Always having unspoken feelings for each other, their reunion is jarring to say the least. It's even more difficult as Joe's house is right next door to the museum. When the roof at the museum collapses and Joe comes over to help, photos are found in the attic. Could they change the fate of the museum? Can Christmas finally bring Joe and Dottie together?
