Op dit moment geen Discussie gesprekken over dit boek. 2,5 better than Twilight stars I can't help but compare the two a bit because even the book admits in a certain scene to its inspiration. As a whole, it isn't all that similar though. We have an innocent girl that gets entangled with vampires and werewolves, although in this case, the whole school is full of monsters and we add dragons and witches to the mix. We have the dangerous vampire love interest. He does tell the MC he is dangerous and she shouldn't be with him.... but it's not obnoxiously mentioned over and over. Honestly, in general, Jaxon is a pretty good boyfriend material compared to Edward. There is no stalking, for one thing. And he manages to have quite wholesome moments with our MC, Grace. The vampires don't sparkle! Despite the silliness and clichés just raining, I couldn't help but continue listening. I might even pick up the next book because the ending was quite intriguing. The Crave Series by Tracy Wolff is a young adult series that is pretty similar to the Harry Potter series. Instead of a boarding school for witches and wizards it’s a mixed school of witches, dragons, vampires and werewolves. The main character, Grace, thinks she’s human, and after her parents die she’s sent to live at the boarding school which is ran by her Uncle. Crave is the first book in the series. The storyline is pretty basic. Grace’s parents die, she comes to the school, falls for a boy, Jaxon (like Twilight, it’s a vampire) and she learns of the politics of the school and the society. She later learns that her parents death was actually a murder to lure her to her own death. I like the overall storyline and the action scenes. Wolff writes really well. I wish this series was narrated from Jaxon’s point of view. After three books I really can’t stand Grace. She is whiny and weak in all 3. And it’s the same repetitive drawl over and over again. I don’t have much faith for Grace’s character development, but I will finish out the series. ★★★★ Despite the whiny main character, the storyline is pretty good. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
Onderdeel van de reeks(en)Crave (1)
Grace's world changed when she joined the academy. At the academy she is a mere mortal among gods...or monsters. She can't decide which faction she should join, or if she should join any of them. The one thing that unites them is their hatred of her. Then there's Jaxon Vega, a vampire with deadly secrets who hasn't felt anything for a hundred years. Jaxon has walled himself off for a reason. Does someone want to wake the sleeping monster in him? Is Grace the bait? Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
