Volume 2 continues with Tatsu trying some different house husband roles – a cooking class and exercising at the gym. Of course, with his reputation the police are suspicious but then so is Tatsu when he’s test driving a new car! With the second volume we know what to expect, but I found this volume to be quite sweet in his devotion to his role. It’s also refreshing to see how his in-laws treat him. ( )

Not quite as strong at the first volume, but still very funny. In this one, some of the jokes seem to be lost in translation. I just felt like there was something I was missing. ( )

Continuano le avventure casalinghe di Tatsu. Il nostro eroe anche in questo volume si deve anche in destreggiare con non poche difficoltà. Anche questo capitolo mi ha divertito purtroppo però inizia un po' a sentirsi il peso per la mancanza di una struttura più complessa della storia. In questo volume abbiamo modo di conoscere un po' di più Miku, la buffa mogliettina otaku di Tatsu e ora sono sempre più curiosa di capire cosa l'ha spinta a mettersi con un uomo che ammettiamolo, per quanto sia dolce e gentile ha lo sguardo da pazzo assassino e non riesce ad essere minimamente rassicurante neanche con indosso un buffo grembiule con le supereroine. Sono curiosa di scoprire cosa ha spinto la donna a sceglierlo e cosa ha spinto un super "cattivo" a redimersi in nome dell'amore.
Un volume sempre simpatico ma che mi ha colpito un po' meno. Rimane in ogni caso consigliato! ( )

Help, this manga is perfect! The art is fantastic, the facial expressions and body movements are on point, the characters are zany and fascinating, and I just love it. "Cozy yakuza comedy" is such a strange combination of genres, but two volumes into it, it works so well, and I'm very glad I already have the third volume on pre-order. PS: I have a desperate need for the Shiba Inu apron, but I'm sure someone has already made on and has it for sale on their Etsy or whatever. ( )

Once again, former yakuza boss Tatsu (aka Tacchan) pursues the way of the househusband. This time around, he attempts to get a little more fit via yoga and volleyball, tries to sell some stuff at a flea market, helps Masa with his laundry, goes car shopping, and spends some time with his in-laws.

I went into this volume hoping for more of the things I enjoyed in the first volume, and instead I got less. There were fewer chapters devoted to Tatsu and his wife, and the ones that were there weren't as good as the ones in the first volume. I did at least like that one of the chapters was devoted to Tatsu's in-laws. Tatsu and his father-in-law had trouble properly communicating with each other but genuinely wanted to get along, and it was kind of sweet.

The volleyball chapter was similarly nice - I'm a fan of tough-looking softies. And the one part of the volume that made me laugh out loud was the bit where Tatsu did aerobics - the poses and closeups were great. Unfortunately, the humor worked even less for me in this volume than it did in the first, and there were a few chapters and moments that outright annoyed me. My least favorite chapter was the car shopping one, in which Tatsu kept imagining random attacks, something he'd never previously showed a tendency towards doing. I also wasn't really a fan of the crepe stand chapter. Sure, the "battle" was nicely ridiculous, but it was also a waste of money and food, something I'd have thought Tatsu would have been against.

And apparently the animal POV chapters are going to be a recurring thing. The first volume's animal chapter was a bit random, but not too bad, I guess (as long as I told myself someone came and helped that dog get untangled later). This one was just a giant poop joke. While I liked the black cat's attitude, I wish Oono had opted to focus the chapter on something else.

Okay, one more volume of this in my collection. If my opinion of this series doesn't significantly improve after reading it, I'll be stopping there.
