Series Info/Source: This is the 9th volume in the Girl from the Other Side series. I bought this book.

Story (5/5): Things are pretty desperate at this point in the story. Shiva has escaped being sacrificed, but for how long? Teacher seems to be lost to his own monstrosity. Will Shiva escape and her and Teacher ever be reunited? We learn a ton about the history of why this world is the way it is in this volume; it was really fun to learn about. The story makes a lot of progress and the ending blew me away; I am dying to know what’s going to happen next!

Characters (5/5): I love Shiva and Teacher in this book. Teacher isn’t in here much but Shiva is and she is just amazing as she always is. The characters are so well done and so expressive.

Setting (4/5): Most of this book takes place in the city with the king’s palace. I didn’t like this setting as much as when the story is in the Outside, but it was interesting to see a different part of this world.

Writing/Drawing Style (5/5): I continue to really love this drawing style, it’s so unique. I am always amazed by how much expression the characters convey with the small and simple line style used in most of the book. The story makes a lot of progress and there are some amazing revelations here. I never get lost or have trouble following it, it’s incredibly well done.

My Summary (5/5): Overall this was incredible and I think it’s my favorite volume of the series so far. I continue to really love the art style and the story made some amazing progress. If you are looking for a deliberately paced manga with an amazing art style, fairy tale vibes, an excellent mystery, and some heartwarming characters I definitely recommend this series! ( )
