110 years after its original publication, The Wonderful Works of God remains one of the finest single-volume systematic theologies ever written. Adapting the magisterial systematic theology found in his four-volume Reformed Dogmatics, this is perhaps Bavinck's most eminently practical work a single, accessible volume for the college classroom and the family bookshelf. Previously published in America as Our Reasonable Faith, this book has had a deep and lasting influence on the growth and development of Reformed theology. [Introduction] This new publication of Herman Bavinck's 'Magnalia Dei', helpfully retitled as 'The Wonderful Works of God', testifies to the relevance and value of great theology.
[Translator's Preface] Those who are at all familiar with the history of the Reformed churches of the Netherlands--that is, of the 'Gereformeerde' as distinguished from the 'Hervormde kerken'--will know that among the heirs of the 'Afscheiding' of 1834 and the 'Doeantie 'of 1886 not two names are held in such esteem as the names of Abraham Kuyper and Herman Bavinck.
[Foreword] Under the title of 'Magnalia Dei', the wonderful works of God, I wish to give a simple explanation of the Christian faith in a book of modest scope, as confessed by the Reformed churches (Gereformeerde Kerken) in all times and lands.
Go, and God alone, is man's highest good.

[Introduction] May this new publication of Bavinck's enjoyable handbook stimulate its readers to realize afresh this most practical end of all theology, namely, to worship God in the wonder of his works.
[Translator's Preface] What he (Bavinck) once said of Calvin, holds also for him: Posterity "can find no better way to honor their pioneer and guide than to confess with heart and mouth: Of Him, and through Him, and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever."
