There are twins, who, for the last five years have been raised by their parents’ friend as no one knows where their parents are. But it turns out they’re good at solving mysteries. They found the neighbor’s missing dog. And they’re known around town for being quite unique. It’s the late 60s before the moon landing by after Stonewall. and things in this town are not what you would imagine. Turns out magic, evil, witches, spells, etc. are all real. This book is geared towards middle grade and YA. It’s a fun wild ride. Perfect for anyone who likes something a little spooky, but not too graphic. I can’t wait to read book 2, which is available now. Loved this comic book! Was sold seeing it was about twin brothers (being one myself), but gave me Hardy Boy vibes. I liked the retro look to the book and it fits the setting. I liked the writing too. It wasn't quick and had a good build up to the ending, kind of didn't see that one coming. Not really a young adult fan as much anymore, but I love detective/occult stuff and that's what I got along with an interesting story. Now to wait for the second book. The Montague Twins:The Witch's Hand is the first of a new series (I hope.). It's The Hardy Boys Meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer in small town USA and its a graphic novel to boot! I'm There. (And let me give a shout out to Comicology who creates specially formatted online comic books (GN's) where you can click form panel to panel and se the details and the text even easier than if you had the physical book in your hands.) This one the artwork is a little blocky and crude but the energy and the power of the images just leaps off the page (screen?) at you. Story takes its time to get going but it's a great ride for all that. Can't wait for volume two. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

This was a different graphic novel. It took me a little while to get into it and figure out what direction I was going in. It kind of felt like it just picked up in the middle of a story. No explanation of what happened to the twins parents or why David and Shelley are raising them. It seems to be taking place in 1969. It kind of felt like it was all over the place. ( )
