Title: Deathstalker Honor Series: Deathstalker Author: Simon Green Rating: of 5 Battle Axes Genre: SFF Pages: 532 Format: Kindle Synopsis: Lionstone has been deposed and now all the factions must decide how to proceed. The Maze group keep getting sent off on missions to keep them out of the way because politicians are always politicians and act like slime no matter what. Owen still believes he can make a difference without taking over. "Something" is in the Darkzone and is making even the AI's afraid. My Thoughts: This book is where I stop reading this series. I will not read books that depict homosexuality as good and normal. God calls it a sin and hence, so do I. Besides that, this was tedious. I felt like I was reading a Dragon Ball Z novel with the characters constantly groaning and reaching new Power Levels and doing new and amazing things. And Owen still whines. I mean whines like a dog that has been hit with a roll of paper. Whine, whine, whine, whine. " After reading the first three Deathstalker novels, I took a long break and read other books. Now I wish I hadn't. Deathstalker Honor picks up right where Deathstalker War left off, at the end of the rebellion and the overthrow of Empress Lionstone. All of the storylines are continued, and Owen is challenged almost beyond what even his maze-enhanced body can do. Now that the rebellion is over, humanities' enemies are closing in to take advantage of its weakness. The rogue AIs of Shub and the Hadenmen start their own wars, and it's up to Own, Hazel, Jack, Ruby, and Tobias Moon (yes, Tobias returns!) to save the day. This book was an excellent follow-up to the previous three and despite its length is an engaging read. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

Owen Deathstalker defends his honor in this thriller in New York Times bestselling author Simon R. Green's epic science fiction series. Owen Deathstalker became a hero after the great rebellion against the tyranny of Lionstone XIV. But he and his compatriots have no chance to enjoy their victory before they are launched into conflict again-this time among factions quarreling over who will replace the deposed Empress. Owen and Hazel d'Ark attempt to escape the ensuing chaos only to discover that Humanity has problems more pressing than political squabbles as they encounter an even greater threat-an encroaching invasion fleet of alien origin . . . Really, this book should have been divided up into multiple books; each one focusing on one of the invading forces, instead of having it all happen in one book.
Aside from that, Green lived up to his usual writing. The characters are still as sarcastic as ever. The powers & weapons are over the top in ways that are always amusing.
I loved that he tied one of the planets here to one of the Nightside books.
This book only left me with one question.
How the hell did leprosy make a come back?!? ( )
