I would love to have Sir Cumference in my classroom because this series of books would allow to start a lesson on a fun note. It can be used with different TEKS all across the middle grades, not just this book but the other books in this series. ( ) In Sir Cumference Gets Decima's Point we start with Pia, a wonderful baker in fantasy middle-ages being kidnapped by Ogres. They kidnapped her so she can help them bake for all of their guests, but the ogres don't know how to bake for all of them. Pia manages to show them ways to cut the pastries that relate to the ogres (who are a play on words with math terminology). I would say this book is great for kids who are from 7 to 10 years old. It's to note that everyone is a math pun and shows a fun way to show math. I thought it was overall fun though I do think that the images used need to be updated a bit with more eye-catching colors instead of more desaturated tones. The Decimal System is a numeral system for denoting integers and non-integer numbers. Decimals are sometimes identified by a decimal separator known as a decimal point like 3.14.
