Supuesto diario de una niña y un niño supervivientes de un ataque extraterrestre masivo. A lo largo de unos años relatan las aventuras y desventuras de ambos jóvenes, aprendiendo sobre sus cuerpos y sobre el mundo, estudiando aquello que desean aprender, medicina para curar sus heridas, mecánica para hacer funcionar los vehículos, etc. Sobreviviendo después de haberse salvado a la hecatombe, saqueando las tiendas, huyendo de los montones de cadáveres, criando animales, cultivando alimentos y, por supuesto, buscando más supervivientes.
Després de 40 anys, tornar a llegir-la ha estat un plaer igual que el primer cop, tot i l´adaptació cinematogràfica i la sèrie televisiva, el llibre segueix sent d'agradable lectura. La idea és original, la relació que estableixen els dos protegonistes encantadora des de l'inici de la narració. Potser el que més grinyola sigui la descripció de l'extra-terrestre que és una mica infantiloide, però la idea general de la història és molt bona. La tendresa que destil·la la relació entre l'Alba i en Dídac és un incentiu per a la lectura, la revisió d'aquelles coses importants que l'Alba valora que cal guardar per donar a conèixer com havia estat la vida i cultura abans de la catàstrofe, la transmissió que en fa al jove company per ajudar-lo a crèixer... L'aventura diària i l'aprenentatge contínu per fer néixer un nou món més just i equilibrat deixa un bon regust en acabar-lo malgrat la desgràcia de la fi d'aquesta primera parella. ( )
