I've not yet read a book by this author that I didn't love and this one is no exception. Starts off with snarky banter and a sizzling hot sexual chemistry. Both Nash and Brady are workaholics and don't have time for anything other than meeting for steamy hook ups. These intimate scenes are used to great effect to show the development of the relationship and how quickly it moves from a matter of convenience to something more like a relationship. Nash and Brady are both sweethearts and I loved their banter, the dynamic of their sexual relationship (which is not what you think based on the first few pages - there's no daddy kink here), and the easy progression of their relationship. Well written, fun, with a little angst. Highly recommended. I have always liked Allison Temple's books in the past and Work-Love Balance is no exception! This story is about IT company owner, Brady and one of his clients Nash. Nash runs a huge LGBTQIA film festival in Toronto and Brady provides IT support for them. At the beginning of the novel, Brady is intrigued and amused by gruff Nash... and then a momentary slip of protocol has him accidentally revealing his attraction to Nash. These two men collide with each, rather than meeting. There are a few pretty epic scenes between them as they give in to the physical attraction that they have both harbored for a long time. Nash's life is complicated. Once upon a time, he was married with adopted twins...but his commitment to work took him away from his partner too much and they divorced. Nash adores his kids but hasn't found much time in his life for sex let alone dating...until he finally kisses Brady. Brady is a workaholic. He struggled a bit with learning when he was a kid but has gone on to be a successful entrepreneur. But, he works his ass off and doesn't have time for friends other than his assistant... he can't even remember the last time he saw his father. When Nash and Brady begin seeing each other, they very slowly begin to become friends and more. But life is always complicated, isn't it? As Nash begins to try and wind down his work involvement for more time with family and Brady... Brady seems to be getting busier and busier. I loved the characters in this book. Nash was a dedicated father... but he wasn't perfect which I loved. Even with 7-year-old twins, he was still learning new things... learning more about his sons and I really enjoyed that. There are some amazingly sweet moments between Nash and his sons after it becomes clear that Jacob has a learning disorder of some kind. One moment between Karter and Nash had me in tears, sometimes, children give us the answers we are looking for - and this lovely 7-year-old character is full of wisdom at just the right moments. This is a lovely romance and with the guarantee of a happy-ever-after, this is about as perfect as a romance can get. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
