Una ble to continue reading; will try later,,, ( ) The Gray Man (Court Gentry ) is back in action, joined by Zack and Zoya, the other members of the Poisoned Apple group. Even CIA DDO Matthew Hanley joins them in the field for the climactic battle. A formal CIA agent has given facial recognition software to a black-ops company he believes is working to curtail Middle East terrorists. The software contains the complete biometric profile of every agent of every spy network, the history of their activities, and their numerous identities. Zack is sent to South America to retrieve the software and immediately imprisoned. It seems every agent is readily identifiable and traced through the ubiquitous cameras that scan almost every public place in the developed world. Given the urgency of this situation, Matt Hanley pulls Court out of a hospital bed and sends him off to find the software. There are so many active forces, plots, subplots, and twists and turns that readers are never sure they know what will happen until it does. The competitors in this life-or-death struggle include the black-op group and its eight-man team of former American special forces members. The Russian quartet, led by an assassin as famed as the Gray Man, whose job is to kill Zoya. The Iranian terrorist and his “dirty dozen” zealots intent on dying a glorious death while striking a blow against the United States. And I haven’t even mentioned the mastermind behind the complex triple-cross. I especially enjoyed the meaningful roles of Zack and Zoya. Previous books introduced them in cameo roles, but in "Relentless" the three worked as a team. Learning about the unique skills of each and seeing the chemistry among the three was a treat. My one slight regret is that Zoya seemed to get a demotion. The story featured Court and Zack more prominently, and protecting the damsel in distress was an undertone of their activities. Nevertheless, I think this is the best book in the Gray Man series, and readers will be surprised by the ending. I can’t wait for the next appearance of the Gray Man. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

"The first agent's disappearance was a puzzle. The second was a mystery. The third was a conspiracy. Intelligence operatives around the world are disappearing. When a missing American agent reappears in Venezuela, Court Gentry, the Gray Man, is dispatched to bring him in. But a team of assassins has other ideas. Court escapes with his life and a vital piece of information. Meanwhile, CIA agent Zoya Zakharova is in Berlin. Her mission: to infiltrate a private intelligence firm with some alarming connections. The closer she gets to answers, the less likely she is to get out alive. Court and Zoya are just two pieces on this international chessboard, and they're about to discover one undeniable truth-sometimes capturing a king requires sacrificing some pawns"-- Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
