That Turtle Story is about Nor O’Brien who works at Turtle R&R in Florida, and Eugene Montgomery, who walks into the turtle rescue office one day asking for help with some eggs he found on the beach. This is told in first person through Nor’s pov.

This story was so much fun to read. I normally dislike first person narratives, but the author did an excellent job with Nor’s voice. He had a self-deprecating sense of humor and his love for turtles came through loud and clear. The banter between Nor and Eugene was filled with humor and kept my attention. I got a good sense of Nor’s personality and how he viewed Eugene. One thing I wished for, was to have seen some flaws in Eugene, but since Nor fell in instant lust with him, Nor pretty much had rose-colored glasses on the whole time.

Nor believes Eugene is leaving Florida, which is indirectly made fun of by the author through Eugene as the ‘classic’ relationship misunderstanding. Nor's reaction to this 'crisis' afterwards is funny, no really it is. It's not big, but it is in Nor’s mind.

I found The Turtle Story a fast, fun, light-hearted story that I can see myself rereading. I recommend it to others looking for a fluffy read. I give this book a solid 4 Stars. ( )
