When Toby auditions the ambitious Leo Duchene, he is struck by the boy's charisma and raw talent but wary of his unpredictable and self-destructive behaviour. His growing involvement draws him into a tangled history: a past filled with loss, pain, guilt and violence. A past that traps Toby and Leo in a toxic dance. Years before, beautiful Didi Duchene longs to break free from the golden cage of her pampered life but in doing so she initiates a generational tragedy: a poisonous tree rooted in the dangerous, playful and sensuous world of The Crimson Pantomime. The characters are unique and dynamic, sadly I couldn’t connect with them. The story is also different and interesting and it flows with the authors style.
I hope this one is the one for others and that they enjoy it.
My opinion is just one of many and not the be all or end all. So pick it up and enjoy it.
