I had a hard time with Persephone's impetuousnous and impulsiveness in this book and especially with her not keeping her word- it seemed so manic, disrespectful, self centered, and reckless. I suppose she was in her teenage years, fighting to be independent from her mom and her daddy figure/bf. I absolutely hated that she expected Hades to communicate and share himself when she kept so many secrets from him, even when she knew her actions would hurt him. He seemed to always forgive her even as she discarded his advice and made selfish decisions that would affect him negatively. She'd keep crying about "I made a mistake" then promptly go out and do something else impulsive that she knew was not the right thing to do. I wanted to slap her, it was so annoying. The story and plot rolled along quickly and it was hard to stop reading about the oncoming train wreck, despite my increasing dislike of the main female. There was a small redemption arc for her towards the end but Hades definitely forgave her too easily, the man is practically a saint. I do love her compassion and the development between her and Apollo. I hope she's less manic and selfish in the next book. ( ) I am always up for a good Persephone and Hades romance and I loved this but the only reason I have it for stars is because the sexual content was way too much. Don't get me wrong I love insatiable appetite when it comes to sex but it was just a bit overboard in this book. And sometimes Persephone's high and mighty judgmental side kind of irked me but despite that I did enjoy the book and can't wait to read what happens next. Okay this story had me so into the feels it’s crazy. I was laughing, swearing (lol lot of that), smiling, near tears and surprise. Scarlett St. Clair has built such a wonderful world and characters giving mythology a modern spin and making the gods and goddess relatable. I’m addicted to this series and can’t wait to read the next book. I enjoyed this less than I enjoyed A Touch of Darkness, but it was still good. Mainly the ending. And even though it wasn't absolutely amazing, I was completely addicted. 4⭐️ 3🔥 "You are my weakness, losing you is my greatest fear, and your love is my most treasured possession." Persephone became annoying. Her emotions became out of control. She's acting kind of immature. She won't listen to the wise gods trying to help her. And she's constantly keeping secrets from those closest to her. I 👏 love 👏 Hermes 👏 😂"I can be a sister!" and I had never heard the term 'sisters before misters' before. I've nearly cried. I've laughed too. I've been frustrated and annoyed. At one point I was literally shaking out of anger and hurt! These gods are such big babies. There wasn't much excitement in this book and it was full of drama, mostly self-inflicted. And I wanted to yell at Persephone for being dumb 90% of the book. I still love the story as a whole and I will be continuing the series! Below are my SPOILER thoughts and reactions: 41%: Persephone is starting be become annoying. She's acting kind of immature. She won't listen to the wise gods trying to help her. And she's constantly keeping secrets from those closest to her. Uh yeah girl. You messed up. Stop fighting the consequences. And stop being mad at hades. He's just trying to protect you. 73%: They have serious communication issues. Oh shit. I see some drama coming. I bet that Hades can't save Lexa and that pisses off persephone makes her retaliate. They still haven't explained why she doesn't remember that one night. Wtf Persephone. He asks you to marry him and be his queen you should say "yes!". Dumbass. He is everything. What is your damn hesitation??? 100%: Lexa waking up is heartbreaking... I teared up. A Touch of Ruin.... yeah well Scarlett you've ruined me. Wtf all the gods are just misunderstood. I seriously about lost my shit when she went into the forest of despair. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
