The illustrations were what drew us to this book but all the fun intricacies of it are what made it really fun to read. The storyline is pretty simple and the plot isn’t too involved, but my kids loved finding all the nursery rhyme and fairy tale shout outs in the illustrations and story. We all thought it was a good read. ( )

When I was little I had a book called the Jolly Postman, I loved that book and seeing all of the hidden fairy tales and reading about the adventure of the Postman. This book brought me back to that time in a story about two friends, Fern and Otto. Fern is writing a story but Otto wants it to have more adventure. The friends take off on an adventure and the reader comes across a variety of their Fairy Tale and Nursey Rhyme friends on their way. At the end of the day, Fern and Otto realize that their friendship is all that really matters.

Lovely story, and the illustrations are FULL of 'other story characters' which makes reading it a lot of fun. ( )
