Ms. Frizzle and her class travel way, way back in time - 3.5 billion years ago - and work their way forward to the present, from single-celled organisms to sponges, fish, amphibians, reptiles (including dinosaurs), small mammals, and eventually primates and humans (homo erectus and homo sapiens).

The book follows the previously established design conventions of the series, with primary text accompanied by sidebars including school reports from the students ("What is a family tree?" "How old is the Earth?") and additional information/humor in speech bubbles. Glad to have a new addition to the series!
